Phibs, Acrylic And Aerosol Paint On KLIPPAN Base

Phibs was initially a bit unsure about how to approach painting on the couch, and did not have a plan of attack. She knew it needed to be primed to make the canvas suitable for painting on and gave it a coat of blue and white paint which started to look like clouds in the sky. This then gave her the theme of a fish wind sock, tribal kites and decorative birds floating by in a twilight sky.

Originally from Sydney, Phibs has been painting graffiti for well over a decade. He is well known for his incredibly detailed cut-back technique and tribal influenced style. Now in Melbourne, he continues to push himself by bringing his style to new areas of design working not just on walls, but canvas, skateboards and clothing. He has recently toured Asia as part of K-spray and has been commissioned to create artwork for Absolute Vodka.

Phibs is an artist with the MAY’s Lane Street Art Project.
